Putnam Reads provides books for the children of Putnam County and currently has
980+ children enrolled to receive a monthly book. We work with local schools and organizations to register eligible children and then with your support, we will continue to raise money each year to provide our young readers with a foundation for success by covering the cost of books.

Putnam Reads is a publicly funded non-profit organization that promotes the development of early childhood literacy skills in children from birth to age 5, especially those who need the most help with getting access to age-appropriate books for their home. Using donations from people in our own local counties we provide resources to encourage parents and family members to enjoy quality, age-appropriate books in the home.
We have set up ways to help us with our campaign to raise money to continue raising money each year to provide our young readers with a foundation for success
by covering the cost of books.
1)Use our QR CODE
At a cost of $31 per child per year, Putnam Reads, in conjunction with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, mails almost 900 books per month, including one for each age-appropriate child enrolled at the schools and day cares in Putnam County. You can help us to cover that cost by adopting one or more readers. That donation can be given to any Putnam Reads volunteer, mailed to the address above, or given online by using this QR code.

(1) Scan QR code to go to website and enter the donation amount information.
(2) Select “I would like to designate this donation to a specific Imagination Library affiliate.”
(3) In the drop-down box, select “United States” for Country.
(4) Enter our zip code, 31024, in the zip code box, and Putnam Reads will appear as the recipient of your donation.
A special LINK just for PutnamReads that takes you straight to our donation page.

We are already organizing our next Seuse on the Loose event. This event is extremely successful and helpful in raising funds for Books.

Save the Date for a great event on March 7, 2026

One of Putnam Readers continuing literacy outreach efforts along with the Eatonton-Putnam County Library is creating partnerships with local business/organizations to build and install “little libraries” throughout Putnam County. These mini “take a book/leave a book” stations provide a super-easy way to support reading for everyone and to connect with the community.
We currently have Little Libraries
at 12 locations in Putnam County.
Our Little Library page has locations and pictures!
